JEFFERSON & INDIAN WOOD

I built Jefferson & Indian Wood as an antiquarian bookstore inside a storage unit at the back of our studios. The shop featured books about the site where we were making work - including Culver City history books,  Los Angeles museum and gallery catalogues, and local maps.

In keeping with this central theme, the shop took its name from the cross streets of our studios. The names "Jefferson" and "Indian Wood" - so loaded with complex American history - served as a reminder that there is always a relationship between our physical structures and our social structures.
